Compassion Pet Hospice serves the East Bay Area of Northern California since 2015. We provide our beloved pets with the alternative of spending the last season of their lives in the comfort and warmth of their home. Our services include phone and online consultation, in-home customized palliative/hospice care (short-term/long-term), chronic pain management, in-home euthanasia, and online pharmacy.
Dr. Ma is out of office until April 18. She will not be able to respond to any inquiry until then. You are welcomed to use our online appointment page to schedule appointment for April 19 or after. If you need immediate assistance, please check out our referral list of local house-call veterinarians.
COVID-19 UPDATE
We are currently closed to receiving new hospice patients. If you submitted appointment request or contacted Dr. Ma in the past, please email her directly. We are open for home euthanasia visit and online quality of life asssessment. We will implement the following protocol for home visit:
1) Dr. Ma will need to talk to you on the phone after you request an appointment online to confirm the appointment
2) Outdoor appointment is highly preferred, indoor appointment is possible with arrangement
3) Dr. Ma will be wearing personl protective equipment (surgical mask and gloves) for the visit. Your family is required to wear masks/face-cover
4) One person can hold your pet during injections. The rest of the family will need to keep at least 6 ft distance while Dr. Ma gets close to your pet. After the injections, Dr. Ma will give you space and time to be with your beloved
It is heartbreaking that we are not able to do what we used to do (like hugging each other to show care and support). However, safety comes first. It is very important that we can communicate over the phone prior to the visit to come up with a plan for your pet's peaceful transition at home.
