Dr. Ma will be out-of-office until Oct 25. We will not be able to respond to any inquiry during our absence. Please see our referral list of local house-call veterinarians for urgent needs.
Customized in-home care focused on comfort, dignity, and quality time together.
The 2.5-hour initial home consultation includes a review of medical records, quality-of-life evaluation, thorough physical examination, and a customized care plan — followed by two weeks of ongoing support via email, phone calls, or texts as we fine-tune the plan together.
Like hospice for people, veterinary hospice focuses on managing pain and other symptoms while supporting the family emotionally through the final season of life. Dr. Ma founded Compassion Pet Hospice after walking this path herself with her own dog — she understands, firsthand, what families need.
Hospice is a team effort between the hospice veterinarian, your regular veterinarian, and you. Through continuous quality-of-life evaluation, the team works to ensure comfort and dignity — never rushing euthanasia, and never prolonging suffering.
Dr. Ma reviews your pet's medical records, performs a thorough physical exam in your home, and suggests adjustments to your home setting to keep your pet comfortable and safe. Medications for pain, appetite, or wound care may be dispensed as indicated. You will receive tools for monitoring quality of life at home, a clear end-of-life plan, and emotional support throughout.
